This is a logo that is meant to illustrate the feel and movement of a flamingo, which is also a music note. The flamingo is a nice illustration. Simple yet descriptive.
The font is a different story. It almost feels appropriate, but I just can't get past the short x-height and skewed-looking 'a'. Even thought the type looks like its been squished, it has nice movement and personality - I just wish it wasn't so bastardized.
A nice friendly serif font could be perfect. Right now, I think they're trying to make their font do too much of the work for this logo. The type needs to take a back seat to the form of the music that has so cleverly been made into a flamingo.
I really dislike this logo. Mainly the font. The note-lamingo if you will is a nice little bit and could stand alone. The font is awkward. The 'N' tries to mimic the actual flamingo while the flamingo is, well a flamingo. Talk about beating a dead horse. Not to mention the tracking on it makes me want to take a crow bar to the 'f' and 'l' so maybe they can start to be a bit more comfortable. Then again, without the "note..." portion of type I would have never really made the connection between flamingo/music note. Hmm...
