RED

This is a little logo I found for a neo-classical orchestra in Cleveland, who play both traditional and non-traditional pieces. The logo was done Twist Creative right up the road in Cleveland. I think this logo is a really nice piece, at first I was a little thrown-off by the seemingly random nature of the form, but upon closer inspection you can see the random lines begin to represent music staff, terminating at the double-dotted bar markers, with quarter and half notes appearing through out, and first what looks like a jumbled nothing begins to be a really intelligent reference to the way some contemporary classical can sound. And maybe it's just me but I also start to read a face in the middle of the glyph, at which point the jumble takes on another life as the frantic motions of a conductor, where the bar lines become cuff links? Anybody else gettin' that? Either way, I really like it, it has equal parts concept, form, and whimsy haha. Unfortunately the best shot of the identity extension (which I have seen in person, but could not find a solid e-version of) kinda leaves a little to the imagination, it's on Twist's site www.twist-creative.com. Check it out, actually, check out all their stuff, it's really nice. Oliver Printing, which some of you may be familiar with, was also done by Twist, they have alot of nice, simple, stuff with a sortve understated elegance. Dig it.
