RadioShack is no longer. In an effort to move the company from being known for carrying parts, cables and batteries, they are dropping radio from the name and will be known only as The Shack. Given that cellular accounts are one third of the revenue, and having carriers At&t, Sprint, and now T-Mobile, the company felt it was time for something new.

the name itself comes from what many people were already calling RadioShack. But with the official announcement only a month ago, and a date of Jan. 1 2011 for the complete eradication of the old identity, it may be a while before RadioShack can tell if this new direction is worth anything.
do you have comments about the design of the new identity?
