Now you have to understand, I love me some Gatorade. It has always been there for me through my years of sports and hot work days. I never realized over the years how stale the look had become, and how lost I would be the first time it had changed. Now I do love the clean look and it feels less like it came out of the 80's.
Now the one complaint I do have is how right on top of the bottles you have to get to tell the difference between the styles. While plain old Gatorade gets just a big G and G2 just has G2, the X-Factor, Rain, AM, and Fierce lines all look the same. they all contain sentences with individual words broken up over lines, and the label of kind and flavor are tiny and not obvious in comparison to the over the top type. I cannot tell you how many times I have accidentally purchased AM fruit punch thinking I was getting X-Factor fruit punch/wild berry.
While again I did think that this was a fresh rebrand, I think more thought needed to go into making all the lines obviously different from one another.
While i find the machismo of the phrases on the bottles dissatisfying in their generica, "Be Tough" "Suck It Up" "Live Free, Die Hard" "Maximum Lame"
ReplyDeletethis stuff looks pretty satisfying in the realm of sheer eye-pleasing-ness
good point too, next to what they had, it looks down right beautiful...then again, what wouldnt?
ReplyDeleteagreed,
ReplyDeletethe gatorade designs are a bit sporty spice but god damn they do work for there purposes. In the case of the getting through a workout, I'll take function over form.
Sometimes you just get thirsty.
